A poem about sleep... cuz that's what I need

Where do we go to find sleep?

One moment is conscious,

the next, a blacked out screen

unlimited and full of potential

Somehow aware,

but comfortably not

Floating, falling,

Bizarrely calming

Until the mind kicks it up a notch

You see faces

but no features

Running slow

Or on spot

Eyes won't see

Visions blurring into one

An uncomfortable scene

not on pause, but repeat

Welcome to your nightmare

Held down by arms

Disembodied limbs

Can't talk or scream

Just paralyzed panicking

Close your eyes

Go back to sleep

This can't be real

Oh god, pinch me

Give me waking

save me

Coming out of sleep

Like emerging from

watery depths

Just breathe

Rub your eyes,

Did that just happen?

Then carry on into

the day dream

Forgetting it even happened
